General Fund
State, Federal and local regulations require a minimal expenditure of funds to keep the 501(c)(3) status current each year. We are an entirely volunteer agency and board members do not get paid for their time.
Trail Development
Help us maintain current trails and build new trails throughout the Flaming Gorge Area
With nearly 90% of Daggett County in Federal and State hands it takes time and coordination to build new trails. Current trails are suffering due to staffing cut backs. Matching Funds and Volunteers are needed to help clear trails and implement the proposed trails within the County Trails Plan.
Recycling Matters
Storage of recyclable material is an issue between shipments. It is critical that we recycle to extend the life of the current landfill. Volunteers will be needed to help sort and prepare the materials for shipment.
DONATIONS MATCHED
Chettyville Sewer Line
The Town of Manila has received a grant to expand sewer service into the unincorporated area of Daggett County known as Chettyville. The area is serviced solely by septic systems, which struggle with the concentration of clay in the area’s soil. The grant does not cover any hook up fees or the cost of taking the line to the individual houses. Several of the current residents are on limited incomes and can not afford these added costs.
The Flaming Gorge Community Foundation has received a $2,000 grant from the Church and Dwight’s Employee Giving Fund as shown above and is seeking additional funds to supplement their donation and ease the transition for those who are in need.
Search and Rescue
If you get lost or stuck Search and Rescue needs people and equipment to come find you
The Search and Rescue Team trains regularly to assist those in need. Donations of Equipment have greatly enhanced the ability of the Team to respond to emergencies and provide assistance at local events. The picture above is the Command Center in the Daggett Days Parade.
Food Pantry
The Uintah Basin Association of Governments out of Roosevelt, Utah runs the Flaming Gorge Food Pantry. They do a very good job of providing a variety of food for those in need! However, there is a need for household supplies that are not food related-like toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, toothpaste, etc. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
For more information contact the food Pantry at 435-784-3993. Hours of Operation are Tuesdays 3:00-6:00 pm and Thursdays from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
DL Invitational
Proceeds go to the Conley Blaine Spencer Headstone Fund to help families in need pay for a headstone
Flaming Gorge Shooting Complex
The Flaming Gorge Shooting Complex is owned by Daggett County but supported by donations & users.
The Flaming Gorge Shooting Complex offers, rifle, shotgun, handgun, archery, 3-D archery and axe throwing options. It is an upgraded facility thanks to the efforts of the Daggett County Shooting Range Committee, and funds from the State Of Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant (UORG), Daggett County, the Flaming Gorge Community Foundation and our many donors! We are nearing completion of our second UORG grant and appreciate all who have helped design, build and maintain this excellent facility. We still have needs for funds to maintain the facility so that no additional tax dollars will be required.
